This invention relates to the mounting of an antenna for radio communication on a vertical wall of, for example, a relay box arranged next to a railroad. Other railway applications are also conceivable, for train, tram or metro, for passenger and freight transport, preferably with an overhead line above the railroad for the electrical supply of the train locomotive. In particular, the side of the wall on which the antenna is located is an outside, so is located in the open air and is exposed to weather influences.
As a rule, the relay box contains a large number of galvanic relays from, for example, a railway protection system. For example of the type of protection relay (so-called Bl relay). It is known from practice to equip a relay box on one of its vertical outer walls on the outside with a blind plate lying flat against the wall on which a flat lying, vertically positioned antenna is mounted. The blind plate is a flat metal plate with flat surfaces and a thickness of 1.5 millimeters.
The object of the invention is to improve the operation of the communication system and at the same time to increase user-friendliness.
To this end, it is proposed to mount the antenna at an angle with respect to the vertical and / or side of the associated upright, preferably substantially vertical wall, preferably at an angle of more than 25 or 45 or 70 and / or maximum 130 degrees, with the vertical, more preferably substantially horizontal. Preferably further to the side of the wall than the thickness of the known mounting on the blind plate, more preferably at a distance of at least 5 or 10 millimeters.
The antenna is preferably mounted on the wall by means of an antenna holder, preferably other than a blind plate, possibly with the intervention of a blind plate.
